ANN WELLS
Artist's Statement
My work looks at aspects of identity using photography of a cinematic nature. Film is always the starting point to my research. My past work has explored identity as a cultural construct, looking at how celebrity icons influence our identity; family identity, looking at ancestry and childhood experiences; and big city identity, which focussed on surveillance.
